Wow, turned out nice again for the Summer Fair on Friday.
We had a really great turn out and it seemed like everyone at the fair had a great time!
So many lovely things were going on. Performances and workshops went down well from Rambert Dance, Miss Gemmel’s choir, the Travelling Irons band (all parents at the school), Pepela Dance – and Borough Music School giving it some brilliant brass.
Our famous raffle was great – thanks to the enthusiastic canvassing of parents and generous contributions from businesses in SE1 and across London. We all cheered some well known faces winning prizes – the office ladies did particularly well!
Throwing a sponge at the teacher was as popular as ever – raising over £115! Thanks to a willing volunteer teacher – thanks again.!
We had lots of great food – barbecue, home made jam and scones, Waffles, ice cream, and for the first time we had a license to serve Pimms.
Games went down well with the usual Spin-the-wheel, guess the weight of the cake, tombola, golden envelopes, hook-a-duck, – and particularly fun: ‘guess the baby’ (we all want to know who was who now…?)
Science corner was again a great success, and we had art workshops from Picasso in the Park. We had a great Scrap Shard activity – with the real Shard in the background – some participants managed to make a shard over three metres high!
After school club did some crafty activities, and we had beautiful henna tattoos from some talented mums, face painting from Mr Mackinnon, art teacher Sarah and their team. We had lovely Tombola prizes donated by parents and local businesses.
So many wonderful things – and a big big thank you goes out to all the parents, teachers, staff, and local businesses who kindly donated their time and effort -and goods to make it all happen – we are all really lucky to have you all willing to help make something great. And of course thanks to all of you who came and enjoyed yourselves!
Thanks to all who organised it – it really was a great fair – well done
hope you all had a good rest afterwards – there was obviously so much work went in to making it such a success. THANK YOU ALL.
