This is very relevant to us as so many of us cross these roads daily:
Action on safer crossings over Borough High Street – Fri 6th dec
Southwark Living Streets, Boroughbabies and SE1 Safe Roads will be holding a day of protest on two dangerous crossings.
Firstly on Great Dover Street and Marshalsea Street crossing (opposite St George the Martyr church).
Second crossing is Great Suffolk Street and Trinity street. As you already know they both are over busy Borough High Street and our main concerns are for the vulnerable.
There is no green man pedestrian crossing at these crossings. These are the main routes to get to parks such as Mint Street Park, Little Dorrit Park, Tabard Garden and Red Cross Garden. Also many children uses these crossings for schools such as Charles Dickens, Cathedral, St Josephs and London Christian school. And its the main crossing to the church.
We would like to see pelican crossings installed at these crossings to make everyday journeys safer.
We would very much appreciate if you were to lend your support by signing the petition and sharing our action day leaflet which we have attached. Any feedback to this campaign would be much appreciated.
