Welcome back – and hello to new parents and new teachers too!
I want to welcome you as a parent to the school community; and wish your children a good day starting their journey through school today – I do hope all goes well for them and they enjoy it. My twins went through reception last year and had a fantastic time. I know its a big emotional and daunting day for parents as well as children though!
All parents are automatically members of the PTA, and anyone who wants to get more involved can do so easily – either by volunteering to be on our committee, by helping out at events, or indeed by coming to events and enjoying them.
Last year we raised money for the school as well as having some greatly enjoyed community events. We had a Frost Fair, a Summer fair, and also a fantastic camping trip when lots of first-time and seasoned campers had a great time. We raised money for new equipment for the school, and this term we will be deciding a new target to raise money for in the school.
You’ll hear from the Parents’ forum soon too – where you can input your views on education and the ways the school is run.
Please do follow our blog for up-to-date news and events info. We post helpful info for parents as well as more detailed news and info on events – photos of events – and calls for help and ideas.
One more way to get involved in the school is the help us keep a current list of parents skills and talents – would you share your skills to benefit the school? You can contribute in areas such as IT, design, photography, gardening, reading, and helping at school trips. Whether a one-off session or regular input, all such skills are highly valued and gratefully received. We’ll ask again, but please let us know your skill or sign up at the school office. I hope to meet you all over the next few weeks – do say hello if you see me – I have twin boys in year one and an older boy in year three.
