Wow – what a great fair we had today – thanks go out to the weather and the sun (long time no see?)
We had a truly great day – and I think so did everyone who helped and came to enjoy the fair and the great atmosphere. Lots of people came, and lots spent a lot of time relaxing, eating, and playing. A great chance to see and use the new playground – and it really makes a great place for a party!
Amongst other things we had a bouncy castle, science corner where the children measured their lung capacity and examined bugs from the garden under microscopes. A professional origami artist came and there was a steady stream of adults and children making all sorts of origami animals all afternoon, along with a kite-making workshop too.
We had all the usual stalls – loads of books and bric-a-brac, and lots of fun games of chance and skill. Hook-a-duck anyone?
Our local MP Simon Hughes came, and after sampling our strawberry ‘Dickens Mess’ he kindly drew the raffle prizes and named the dog for us.
We were lucky enough to have demonstrations of talent from Borough Music school brass section, and also a marvellous session of Zumba right at the end – which finished everything off splendidly.
We hope you enjoyed it – thanks again to all the parents and teachers who helped, and all the local businesses that donated time, goods, and raffle prizes.
